Hello to everyone from the Houses in hot and sunny Guyana. We have not had much rain in the past month with the temperatures averaging about 90 in the day, and in the high 70’s at night. The rainy season is due to start in December which will cool things down a few degrees. The rainy season in Guyana is normally in December and January. In June we will also get a lot of rain with a lot of sunshine even in the rainy season.
Time moves fast as we have been back in Guyana for about seven months now. Living in Guyana has become a way of life for us as we have adjusted back to being in Guyana. We are thankful to the University Church of Christ in Montgomery, Alabama, and several others who have made it possible for us to help work with the Plaisance and Industry congregations.
Personal Report:
I am still helping with the teaching and preaching at Plaisance monthly. Witfield Collins, the local preacher, and me take turns teaching and preaching every Sunday. I am also teaching Bible class every Wed afternoon. The attendance has been steady over the past month.
Randall Maniram, the 73 old man, that I baptized in late September has been attending faithfully. I visit and study with him every week. Randall also comes on Wed night to bible class. It is also encouraging that Phyllis James, who is 79 years old, and was baptized in the early 90’s has been coming back to worship faithfully after missing for a long time. Here is a picture that was taken of Phyllis, Witfield, and me about two weeks ago at Plaisance.
We are still encouraging members, along with those who are not members on a regular basis. Last Saturday, Naiome and I visited with Aneeka who has been worshipping with us for about a month. Her son, Nathanel, 10 years old has been coming to Naiome’s Sunday school.
Sunday nights Naiome and I have been attending the Industry Church of Christ. I help the local preacher, Floyd Cato by preaching twice a month. Floyd and I also go out into the field twice a week to visit and encourage members, and to try to reach the lost. The visits have been helping as the attendance is starting to improve on Sunday mornings. Sunday nights have varied with 10-12.
Thank You Brethren:
Thank you one again for all your support and encouragement in the Guyana work. We are thankful that you are co-workers with us in the Lord’s work. Keep us in your prayers, and for the church in Guyana. Naiome and I hope that everyone has a great Thanksgiving holiday.
In Christ,
Bruce House

Hello everyone:
Hope this newsletter finds you all doing well. I know it’s getting a little colder back home, but it is still hot here, it never gets cold here in Guyana. We are doing well and staying busy with the work. Time flies by so fast that it does not seem like we have been here seven months already.
Last month we had the pleasure of having the Mitchells over for lunch. They are from Tennessee and were in Guyana for a mission trip. We saw Donnie a few years ago but we had not seen Paulette in over 23 years. It was so good to see them and myself, and Paulette had such a great time catching up.
The Sunday School at the Plaisance congregation continues to go well, we vary in numbers and can go from 3 to 14 depending on who all shows up 😊. Most of the kids walk to Sunday School and have to depend on an adult to bring them. Below are some pictures.
This week I had three kids show up. We made paper doves as we talked about the baptism of Jesus and the Holy Spirit came down like a dove, Matthew 3:16.
This week I had 14 kids showed up, we talked about Jesus teaching us to pray and they worked on a prayer wheel.
We also celebrated Breast Cancer awareness month. I tried my hand at making a display 😊
October was a month of birthdays as we celebrated my mom and my sister’s birthday.
We took my mom out to dinner for her birthday.
This is our family celebrating my mom’s birthday. From left to right are my sister Roxanne and her friend Andrew, myself and Bruce, my niece Priscilla who belongs to my brother Mohan, my brother Mohan and his wife Sonya in the blue shirt and my sister Sarah in the black and white dress.
This is my sister Sarah who celebrated her birthday on October 26th, the same day myself and Bruce celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and encouragement. We are thankful to everyone that makes it possible for us to be here in Guyana. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. It is not a holiday here, but we will be having a Thanksgiving meal with a few family and friends over.
In Christian love
Naiome House
