End of 2025 Newsletter Proverbs 25:25- Like cold water to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.
Dear Brethren,
Hello from Guyana. We hope you had a great Christmas holiday and wish all a great New Year. This past year seemed to go by fast. We had a good sunny and hot Christmas in Guyana, and we are looking forward to the New Year in the Lord’s work. In this report I will give some highlights of the work in Guyana from the past six weeks. We want to thank you for your continual support for us, and for being fellow- workers with us in the Guyana work.
Plaisance and Industry Updates:
Industry had two baptisms and one wedding in December. Two young men, Jashawn 12 years of age and his brother Toriano, 10 years old were baptized. They are Floyd’s stepsons. Floyd and Amanda got married in October of 2025. Our sister Claudette, who was baptized a few months ago got married to Clyde. They had a small wedding at the Industry Church of Christ. Claudette is full of life and always has a smile on her face. She has been very faithful since her baptism. We are continuing to help work with the congregations at Plaisance and Industry. Both congregations were busy during the Christmas holidays. Naiome will write about some of the events that we enjoyed during the holiday season. The attendance at Plaisance has been steady for the past month with about 50 attending on Sunday mornings. Plaisance had a young man restored on “Old Years Night”, called New Years Eve in the States. We had 65 that attended for the last day of the year.
A young man named Timothy Prince was restored to the Lord at the end of the service a little past midnight. Timothy got married about a month ago at Plaisance but had been living an unfaithful life for several years. His mother Claire has been a faithful member at Plaisance since the 1990’s and has been a great influence on her family by her faithful example to the Lord and His church. The attendance at Industry has been averaging in the 30’s for the past several weeks. Industry also had several activities during the holiday season. They had a Christmas dinner with about 50 attending on December 13th. It was a good time together, and everyone enjoyed themselves. Industry also had an “Old Years Night”. They had a good turnout also. Old Years Night in Guyana is a great tradition as it is a good way to close the old year and the begin the New Year. I attended my first Old Years Night in Guyana in 1990 at Plaisance. That was my first year in Guyana. Naiome and her family also attended as the congregation started in September of 1990. Industry also had its first Old Years Night in 1997. Naiome and I were blessed also to be there.
Personal Report: I am continuing to help with the preaching at Plaisance and Industry monthly. I teach Wed night Bible Class at Plaisance with about 10 attending regularly. This month I will be getting back into the field visiting and setting up bible studies since the holiday season is over. Plaisance and Industry only had only a few baptisms in 2025, but several were restored back to the Lord. We will continue to work for the Lord in reaching the lost and in helping restoring the erring. We are thankful for the University Church of Christ in Montgomery, Al for their support and encouragement. We are also thankful to everyone who has helped us in the Lord’s work here.
Thank You Brethren: We want to thank everyone again for your prayers, encouragement, and support for us in the Guyana work. We thank God for everyone supporting us, and for being fellow- workers with us by your support and involvement. God bless you my brethren and friends.

Naiome’s Corner Hello from Guyana.
Happy New Year to everyone. Hope everyone had a good holiday season. It is very hot in Guyana and did not seem like the holiday season with no snow
We had a busy time here in Guyana with all the church activities. Here are a few highlights.
We had the Children’s holiday party at Plaisance on December 13th. It was an exciting time for the kids. We sang lots of songs, played games, ate hot dogs and all the kids received presents. The kids here love hot dogs and fried chicken, two of their favorite meals.
We had 19 kids that attended, and all of these are kids that come on regular basis. It’s so great to see the Sunday school at Plaisance grow and see physical and spiritual growth of these kids. We are also thankful to have two great Sunday school teachers, Reshma and Alana. . We also took the 17 of the Sunday school kids from the Plaisance congregation to the movies on December16th to see Zootopia 2.
The kids had a great time and were all well behaved. After the movies we took them out for a meal at the mall, they had a choice of pizza or fried chicken and guess what the majority went for – fried chicken of course
They all love KFC
After the meal we treated them to DQ ice cream cones, they also got a present. Needless to say, they all had a great holiday time. The Industry congregation had a Christmas dinner on December 13th. It was a great meal, and we had a good attendance. They also had a Children Christmas party on December 21st but only had one child that attended. Industry usually has between three to six kids on Sundays. It has been a struggle to get the Sunday school going as most of the kids do not get there until after ten and Industry meets for Sunday school at 9 am. The Plaisance congregation had their Christmas dinner on December 21st after morning services. It was finger foods buffet style. I introduced them to American Cheddar Cheese ball with crackers and to a chocolate chip cheese ball.
They were hesitant at first, but they all loved it after they tried them. We also handed out 12 food hampers to our elderly and widows. The Sunday school kids also sang a few songs for the congregation. This year we spent Old Years night with the Plaisance congregation as we had spent last year at Industry. We try to alternate between the congregations and try to spend equal time with both. I told Bruce it’s like having two kids. We had a great turnout and it is always great ringing in the New Year with songs and prayers to the Lord. Below is a picture of some of the ladies that attended the Old Years fellowship. Personal News We spent a quiet Christmas. We had my family over for lunch on Christmas day and had a Guyanese meal of duck curry, with dhal(split pea puree) and rice. We also had baked chicken for Bruce and mashed potatoes.
We also had lots of Guyanese cakes (sponge cake, fruit cake and black cake). I made Bruce an apple pie. So it was a Guyanese/American meal
We received the best Christmas present this year. Our grandson, little Judah Aslan, was born on December 22nd. Momma, daddy and baby are all doing fine. Our daughter-in-law sends us a picture almost every day. He sleeps a lot.
We can’t wait to see him in person soon. Thank you all for your continued support and prayers. We appreciate all your prayers and all your support. Please continue to pray for us, the work here and our family.
In Christian love Naiome
